Mrs. LaBarge was born Evangeline Mary Newell on May 15, 1924, in Demar. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert, in 1999; and two grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Ronnie of Salina and Joseph of Ozark, Mo.; five daughters, Donna Forgue of Minneapolis, Marlene Trimble of Beverly, Jolene Green of Colorado Springs, Colo., Linda Newell of Demar and Sharon Forgue of Salina; a brother, Jasper Newell of Hastings, Neb.; a sister, Irene of Ellis; 14 granchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, 230 E. Cloud, Salina. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina.

A vigil will be held and a rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. today at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina.

Memorials may be made to Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.
