Mrs. Lantz was born Sondra Jolene Walters on Jan. 8, 1939, in Salina. She was a homemaker and worked as a secretary for Nelson Truck Line and National Order Buyers, both of Salina.

She married Bill Lantz on May 27, 1956, at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church in Salina.She was a member of Sweet Adelines, Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, Tops Club and Wednesday Night sharing group. She sang as a soloist for numerous weddings and funerals in the Salina area.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Juanita (Aills) Walters.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; two sons, Greg and wife Jolene and Brad and wife Kandi, all of Salina; a daughter, Kathy Persons and husband Bill of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Phyllis Rippen and husband Kent of Salina; her father, Curtis Walters of Salina; 11 grandchildren, Ryan, Jason and Matthew Lantz, Colby and Shane Bertrand, Brandon Lantz, Jennifer Walker, Shannon Lantz, Jill Persons, Julie Deitchler and Keith Persons; five great-grandchildren, Zachary and Paxton Miller, Nicholas and Kameron Walker and Tyler Heard; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, 304 W. Grand, the Rev. Nancy Crowl officiating.

Memorials may be made to the church or the Kaye Pogue Hospice Center.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina. There will be no viewing. The body was cremated.
