Mr. Lero was born April 28, 1954, in Kansas City. He was a mechanic with Philips Lighting Co.

Survivors include his wife, Lyna, of the home; a stepson, Dustin Thompson of Manhattan; four brothers, Rusty of Erie, Dave of Iola, Jim of Parsons and Rick of Scammon; and his mother, Barbara Lero, of Erie.

A private family memorial service will be held with inurnment at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.

There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.
