Mrs. Medve was born Simona Fernandez on Oct. 28, 1926, in Salina. She retired from Tony's Pizza after 20 years.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, David Klanke; a brother, Augustine Ariaz; and a sister, Lupe Martinez.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph, of the home; two daughters, Judy Klanke of Salina and Gerardette "Gerry" Nicolay and husband Rob of Salina; two brothers, Lawrence Hernandez of Valley Center and Salvador Hernandez of Phoenix; four sisters, Basilia Mora of Port Hueneme, Calif., Andrea Montoy of Salina, Refugia Flores of Universal City, Texas, and Frances Gonzales of Conyers, Ga.; and a granddaughter, Christina Golladay of Beloit.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Ninth and Iron, Salina. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina.

A vigil and rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the cathedral.

Memorials may be made to Salina Senior Center, in care of the family.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.
