HARKER HEIGHTS, Texas — Sheridan “Bud” Moore, 85, Harker Heights, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007. Mr. Moore was born June 7, 1922, in Conneaut Lake, Pa., to Sheridan B. and Ruth Eva Adams Moore. He owned and operated Bud’s Gun Shop, Killeen. He was a major in the U.S. Army. He earned the Army Commendation Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and Senior Parachute Badge. He was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division, Killeen Evening Lions Club and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed spending his summers in Alaska fishing and loved hunting. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice S. “Peggy” McAdams Moore; his parents; and a sister, Peggy. Survivors include a son, Howard “Brian” and wife Marcia of Austin, Texas; a daughter, Sally Bolton and husband Alan of Atlanta; a brother, William P. of Denver; a sister, Jane Norris of Salem, Ore.; and four grandchildren, Joe McMullen, Christopher Bolton and Shannon and Courtney Moore. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1104 N. Fourth, Killeen, the Rev. Elizabeth Lee officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina, Kan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Killeen Evening Lions Club, Box 10505, Killeen 76547, or the church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home, 1615 Fort Hood, Killeen 76542. Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, is handling local arrangements. |
