Lenora Mortimer, 92, Salina, died Thursday, May 31, 2007. Mrs. Mortimer was born Lenora McIntyre on August 1, 1914, in Gypsum, the daughter of Charles B.F. McIntyre and Maude Mary (Miller) McIntyre. She was a public grade schoolteacher in Assaria and Salina. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Gypsum. She married James "Jimmie" Mortimer on July 18, 1936. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years, James "Jimmie," in 1988; a daughter, Linda Gottfrid; two brothers, Charles and Virgil; and a sister, Marjorie Pickering. Survivors include a son, Alan and wife Rosemarie of Leesburg, Va.; a son-in-law, Joe Gottfrid of Basking Ridge, N.J.; a brother, Niles "Bud" McIntyre of Tampa, Fla.; six grandchildren, Signe Davis and husband Tate of Charlotte, N.C., Shelley Giles and husband Dave of Tampa, Derek Gottfrid and wife Romi of Manhattan, N.Y., Chad Gottfird and wife Jane of Norristown, Pa., Matthew Mortimer of Leesburg and Melinda Mortimer of Rohnert Park, Calif.; and eight great-grandchildren, Tate and Caroline Davis, Joshua, Daniel, Allison and Cameron Giles and Annika and Emma Gottfrid. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Gypsum, the Rev. Charles Norman officiating. Burial will be in Gypsum Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. |
