Raymond Vincent Pierson

Raymond Vincent Pierson, 90, Salina, died Tuesday, May 1, 2007.

Raymond was born July 23, 1916 in Kelvin Montana. He was the son of Arthur E. and Anna E. (Swenson) Pierson. He was a cereal chemist for 52 years with ADM Milling of Salina, retiring in Feb. 1990. He invented new laboratory test equipment and modernized many of the company's laboratories. After retiring he built birdhouses and whirligigs for many people. He and his brother, Earl, placed hundreds of bluebird houses around the Central Kansas Area. He also built wooden toy cars, trucks, buses, etc. These were given freely to small children and pre-schools.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Arthur Robert and Earl S.; and two sisters, Anna Grace Bowman and Alice Marie Euler.

He is survived by his sister, Arleen Meyer of Alma, Kansas. Other survivors include many nieces and nephews.

He attended Dwight Schools and Kansas Wesleyan in Salina, KS.

Private graveside services will be at a later date in Dwight Cemetery
