Mr. Pierce was born Jan. 26, 1920, in Shady Bend. He was a house painting supervisor.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry W., in 2005.

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine L., of Salina; two sons, Russell L. of Salina and Allen A. of Ewing, Ky.; a daughter, Joyce Siewert of Romeo, Mich.; a sister, Marjorie Theleman of Salina; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Church of the Nazarene, Salina. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, Salina.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
