Mr. Powell was born June 22, 1928, in Covert to Charles Edwin Powell and Nora E, Powell-Vanallen. He was a warehouse foreman for Salina Supply Company.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis, of the home; a son, Jerry of Salina; five daughters, Dianna Kelly and husband Robert of McPherson and Judy Berg and husband Robert, Debra Davis and husband Victor, Darla Lorence and husband Jerold and Joni Root and husband Dave, all of Salina; a brother, George of Kensington; three sisters, Lillian Range of Wichita, Madonna Campbell of Leavenworth and Maxine Junk-McFarland of Hutchinson; and 11 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina or Tammy Walker Caner Center.

There will be no visitation.
