Mr. Richards was born March 5, 1927, in Eagle Rock, Calif., the son of Frank Alfred and Edith Elizabeth (Jones) Richards. He was a diesel mechanic for John Deere and Foley Tractor for more than 40 years, retiring in 2002, and recently was working for Del's Alternator Service.

Survivors include his wife, Carole, of the home; a son, David Richards and wife Jo of New Cambria; a daughter, Cyndi Schleret and husband Jan of Wichita; three sisters, Genevieve Finley of Woodbridge, Calif., Mary Sloan of Humansville, Mo., and Carol Graves of La Mesa, Calif.; and three grandchildren, Timothy Baumbach, Allysa Baumbach and Nicholas Schleret, all of Wichita.

No services are scheduled. Inurnment will be at a later date.
