Guadalupe D. “Lupe” Sanchez, 89, Salina, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007.

Mrs. Sanchez was born Guadalupe Demas Hernandez on Dec. 11, 1917, in Miltonvale. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the St. Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, the American Legion and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, all of Salina. She was preceded in death by her husband, Santos, in 1991; an infant son; and two grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Sanchez of Salina; three sons, Robert and Tony, both of Salina, and Charles of Fayetteville, N.C.; two brothers, Carmen Hernandez of Pomona, Calif., and Felix Hernandez of Salina; six sisters, SanJuana Garcia of Longmont, Colo., Inez Mascareno of Herington, Louise Hernandez of Columbia, Mo., and Mary Louise Gonzales, Angela Gonzales and Nancy Hernandez, all of Salina.; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, 230 E. Cloud, Salina. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina.

A rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. today at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.

Memorials may be made to the church or Hospice of Salina.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.
