Mrs. Schroeder was born Joyce Elaine Fager on May 12, 1937, near Miller, the daughter of Bertha Anderson Fager and Laurell Fager. She was a graduate of Friends University. She worked as an early childhood educator and a piano instructor. She was a member of PEO, Mu Phi Epsilon Alumni Chapter, Stacatto Notes Music Club, Presbyterian Women and Sunrise Presbyterian Church, Salina. She was a musician and volunteered at Headstart and Sunflower Adult Day Services. She married Donald B. Schroeder on Aug. 25, 1957, at Grace Lutheran Church, Osage City.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Donald B. Schroeder; two sons, Timothy Laurell and wife Jean of Douglas, Wyo., and James Robert and wife Becky of Lewiston, Idaho; a brother, Larry Fager of Miller; and four grandchildren, Rachel, Corbin, Emily and Stephanie Schroeder.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, the Revs. Tom Reid, John Pehrson, Don Hammerli and Donald Owens officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sunrise Presbyterian Church, Sunflower Adult Day Services or the College of Emporia Alumni Association Scholarship Fund.

There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.
