Mr. Schneweis was born January 1, 1940 in Salina, the son of Ethel Eileen (Roscoe) and Herbert Alyoisius Schneweis. He worked as an electrician for Morrison Elevator then Scoular Elevator for 48 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Steve Schneweis.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara of the home; one son, Thad Schneweis of Lenexa; one daughter, Krista Hall of Overland Park; one step-daughter, Daretha Chesser of Kingsport, Tennessee; three sisters, Vicki Talley of Solomon, Donna Dick of Salina and Karen Schmidt of Ventura, California; five grandchildren, Annabella and Reid Schneweis and Caitlin, Hannah and Grace Hall; and three step-grandchildren, Dylan, Mason and Max Chesser.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, 230 E. Cloud, Salina, with Fr. Kerry Ninemire officiating. Inurnment will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.

A vigil/rosary service will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.

Memorials may be made to the Kaye Pogue Hospice Center, Salina.

There will be no viewing. The body was cremated.
