Mrs. Scott was born Virginia Louise Nelson on June 28, 1930, in Salina to Ruben and Sesta Estella Hinkle Nelson. She had been a sales clerk at Kline’s Department Store.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth, in 1981; and a son, Jeffery, in 2000.

Survivors include two sons, Tom and wife Sheila of Ruskin, Fla., and Rick and wife Sue of Raleigh, N.C.; three daughters, Pam Kestler and husband Paul of Youngsville, N.C., Roxanne Cowhick and husband Richard of Bennington, and Rhonda Lewis and husband Troy of Salina; a sister, Lorene Scavello of Malvern, Pa.; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bennington United Church in Bennington. Burial will be in Bennington Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. Friday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 North Eighth, Salina 67401, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
