Mrs. Smith was born Alvena B. Beckman on June 11, 1911, in Metropolis, Ill., the daughter of Albert Beckman Jr. and May Oaks Beckman. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Gale Smith, in 2005.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry and wife Sherry and Mike and wife Vickie, all of Salina; three grandchildren, Melody Elam and Scott Smith, both of Salina, and Michelle Coonrod of Manhattan; and five great-grandchildren, Evan Elam, Ethan Elam, Kelsey Coonrod, Cole Coonrod and Haden Smith.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, the Rev. Paul Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.
