Mrs. Somers was born Evelyn M. Shoemaker on Aug. 13, 1924, in Minneapolis. She was a records clerk for Central Music Company.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, in 1989.

Survivors include four sons, Larry of Abilene, Bradley of Colorado Springs, Colo., Alan of McKinney, Texas, and Robin of Salina; 12 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. The family will receive friends before the funeral service from noon until 1 p.m. Friday.
