Mr. Swenson was born April 5, 1920, in Falun, the son of Axel J. and Mabel M. (Gustafson) Swenson. He was a farmer and stockman.

He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, C.L. "Chris" Christian, in 2005.

Survivors include his wife, Erma Faye, of the home; two sons, Greg and wife Diane and Kevin and wife Jill, all of New Cambria; a sister, Doris Christian of Salina; and five grandchildren, Brandon and Bryan Swenson and Brady, Bailey and Blake Swenson, all of New Cambria.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 255 S. Seventh, the Rev. Kent Happel officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
