Mr. Young was born Sept. 14, 1950, in Salina. He retired after 38 years employment with School Specialty Supply in shipping and packaging.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Salina, and American Quarter Horse Association.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Julia Young, in 1981; and his father, W. Harold Young, in 2000.

Survivors include four cousins, Marian Turner and husband Dwayne of Belleville, Jack Young of Chicago, Bill Young of Lawrence and Pat Powers of California; and guardians, Larry Kaiser and Bob Boden, both of Salina.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel at First United Methodist Church, Salina, the Rev. Amy Bowers, officiating. A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Lake Cemetery, Republic, the Rev. Bill Brazil, officiating.

Memorials may be made to Salina Animal Shelter.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.
