Anthony W. “Tony” Allen

DELPHOS — Anthony W. “Tony” Allen, 51, Delphos, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008. Mr. Allen was born Jan. 20, 1957, in Plainville, the son of James W. and Betty E. (Thompson) Allen. After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, Mr. Allen completed diesel mechanic training at Salina Vo-tech. He worked primarily in the Salina area for Holiday Mansions and the Salina Journal. Most recently, Mr. Allen worked in maintenance for the USD 239 school district.

Tony was preceded in death by his father, James, in 1993; and a brother, James Arthur Allen, in 1955. Survivors include his daughter, Heather Dawn; mother, Betty E. Whittecar; brother, Bob Allen and wife Ernestine; sister, Diana Kiemel, all of Salina; one grandson; one niece; and five nephews.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, at Belmont Boulevard Christian Church, 2508 Belmont Blvd., Salina 67401, the Rev. Greg Guy officiating. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.
