Barbara Lee Erickson, 86, Salina, died Feb. 11, 2008. She was born Apr. 3, 1921 in Downs, the daughter of Peter and Lora (Sams) Arnold. She was a graduate of Salina High School and spent the 1960’s and 70’s living in Guam and Denver with her family, returning to Salina in 1985. She was an avid lifelong reader and enjoyed trips to the library and aquasizing at the YMCA. She also enjoyed sewing and quilting and was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Salina. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Clemens Bernard Erickson, in 2005 and a daughter, Laurel Erickson, in 1947. Survivors include two sons, Byron and wife Diane Erickson and Bernard Erickson, all of Salina; three daughters, Linda and husband Richard Johnson of Riverbank, CA, Nancy and husband Fred Koenig of Kalispell, MT, and Susan and husband Dave Jecminek of Loveland, CO; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th, Salina. Inurnment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salina Public Library or the Salina YMCA. |
