Karen Elaine Fallis
October 24, 1939 - February 10, 2008

Karen Elaine Fallis, 68, Salina died February 10, 2008.

Ms. Fallis, the oldest child of Denzil and Veola Paschal Fallis, was born Oct. 24, 1939, on a farm north of Luray, KS. She attended Luray Grade and High schools, graduating as salutatorian in 1957. She was class president for three years and her school’s representative to Girls’ State. She received an associate degree in business from Brown Mackie College and moved to Kansas City to work for the FBI She also worked for an architectural firm in Kansas City before moving back to Salina. She worked for the Salina Bicentennial Center, retiring as assistant manager in 2002. Karen was a lifelong member of Luray United Methodist Church and regularly attended First United Methodist Church of Salina. Belonging to the Peacemakers Sunday School Class. She was a member of Salina Noon Kiwanis Club, serving as president and earning recognition as Kiwanian of the Year for her work with the Pancake Feed and Tri-Rivers Fair concession stands. She was a Meals on Wheels volunteer and enjoyed volunteering at the Stiefel Theatre for the Performing Arts. She enjoyed the many wonderful cultural events Salina has to offer.

She leaves a sister, Lauda Fallis, Fort Collins, CO, and her companion, Jim Mull; a brother, Michael Fallis and spouse Pauline, Luray, KS; a nephew, Warren Fallis and wife Angie, Luray, and their three daughters, Arelyn, Haley and Taylor; a niece, Tami Sharp and husband Lance, Oak, Neb., and their two children, Gabriel and Jacob; an aunt, Gena McKanna, Luray; an uncle, Don Paschal and spouse Glenna, Russell; an aunt, Tamsel Rogers and spouse Verlin, Larned; cousins, Nick Paschal, Jeff and Debbe Paschal, Jan Nixon, Bruce and Diane Wineinger, and Lori Spencer.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, Salina, the Rev. Troy Bowers officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Vincent Cemetery, north of Luray, KS.
