Sharon was born on December 28, 1943 to Joseph and Verna (Madetzke) Ewen in Slayton, MN. She graduated from Slayton High School in 1961 and married Jerome Benson on January 7, 1962. She moved to Salina in 1967 where she lived until she married Erylon Flynn on September 9, 1989.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bruce; a baby sister and a nephew, Joseph Ewen.

She is survived by her children, Mark Benson, Linda Woodfield and husband Jay of Salina, Allen Benson of Wichita, and Christina Marko of Waldorf, MD, and brothers, Dennis and James Ewen of Tucson, AZ and Fr. Sharbel “Gary” Ewen of Oceanside, CA. She was blessed with five grandchildren, Kylie, Nicholas and Megan Woodfield, James Benson and Ryan Marko.

A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2008 at St. Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, 230 E. Cloud, Salina. Inurnment will be in the All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Salina.
