Joseph H. "Joe" Johnson

Joseph H. "Joe" Johnson, age 82, died October 10, 2008 at his home in Salina, KS.

Mr. Johnson was born August 18, 1926 in Saline County, KS. He attended Crystal Springs Country School and Sacred Heart High School, Salina. He was a lifetime farmer in Saline County, and enjoyed gardening and cooking. He married Joyce Sheffler on May 5, 1985. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Salina.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Mary (Hemmy) Johnson and one infant brother.

He is survived by his wife Joyce of the home: Two sons, Robert "Bob" Johnson of Bennington, KS and Richard "Rick" Johnson and wife Janet of Minneapolis, KS. Grandchildren: Debbie Carrano and husband Anthony of Austin, TX and Janelle Johnson of Tulsa, OK. Great Grandsons: Dominic Jensen and Cooper Carrano. One uncle, Richard Hemmy of Salina, and many Cousins and Friends.

A Memorial Service will be 11 am Monday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 255 South 7th St. Salina with Rev. Kent Happel officiating. A Private burial service will be in the Highland Cemetery, New Cambria, KS. Visitation will be 1 to 8 pm Sunday at the Ryan Mortuary, where the family will receive friends 6 pm to 7:30 PM. Memorials are suggested to the Church or to Hospice of Salina.
