Kenneth C. Johnson, 92, Salina, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, at Presbyterian Manor, Salina. Mr. Johnson was born Feb. 23, 1916, in Brookville, the son of Edwin and Irene Johnson. He was founder and principal stockholder of Johnson’s Elevators, Mentor. He married Grace K. Bengtson on Nov. 2, 1939, at Salemborg Lutheran Church, Salemsborg. She survives him, as do his three children, Charles “Chuck” Johnson, Assaria, Deanna Nelson, Ralston, Neb., and Jean Ann Knappenberger, Topeka; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Lois Webb, Salina. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Monday at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, where family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, at Immanuel Luthern Church, Salina. Burial will be private in Assaria Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Bethany College, the church or Presbyterian Manors of America. |
