Bessie was baptized in 1956 at Trinity Lutheran Church where she was a member of LWML, serving on the Altar Guild and Mary Circle. She was a charter member of the Priscilla Circle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, in 1997.

Survivors include her daughter, Marlene Leister and husband Charles, Salina; stepdaughter, JoEllen Olsen and husband Jim, Pocatello, Idaho; stepson, James E. Kean and wife Claudine, Silver Springs, Fla.; three granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; two twin great-great-grandsons; nine stepgrandchildren; and 18 stepgreat-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday morning, Aug. 11, 2008, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Salina. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church.
