Anthony Henry Knoeber, 90, Salina, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008. Mr. Knoeber was born Dec. 10, 1917, in Spearville to William T. and Mary (Durler) Knoeber. He was a district manager for the Social Security Administration for 35 years, retiring in 1972.He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.He was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, Salina, and Knights of Columbus. He was a Knights of Columbus state secretery and deputy and was president of Knights of Columbus Charities Aid Foundation. He also was a Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree State Master and was a board member of Lake Mary Center, Paola. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine (Lutz) Knoeber, in 1956; his second wife, Carmela (D’Agostino) Knoeber, in 1988; two daughters, Mary Catherine Knoeber in 1949 and Judith Hogan in 2007; and a granddaughter, Julia Reagan in 1988. Survivors include five daughters, Anita Fassero and husband Marty of Omaha, Neb., Margaret Reagan and husband Mark of Westchester, Ohio, Jane Wiegand and husband Len of Wichita, Michele Dausman and husband Jack of Vienna, Va., and Geralyn Strasters and husband Tim of Grand Prairie, Texas; two brothers, Vincent Knoeber of Lakewood, Colo., and William Knoeber of Sun City West, Ariz.; two sisters, Sister Helen Joseph Knoeber of Wichita and Agnes Holtfrerich of Dodge City; 19 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, Salina. A second funeral will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Dodge City. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City. A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary and 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Dodge City. Memorials may made to the Knights of Columbus Charities Aid Foundation. |
