James S. “Jim” Leiker, 53, of Salina, died Sept. 26, 2008, in Salina. Mr. Leiker was born April 21, 1955, in Salina to Clarence J. and JoAnn (White) Leiker. He was the store manger for Salina Auto Parts for many years, until his death. He was a wonderful grandfather to his two grandchildren. He was a avid race fan, and enjoyed restoring classic cars. He is preceded in death by his wife, Shawn, in 1987; his father, in 2002; and a brother, Jerry, in 2004. He is survived by his children: Jason Leiker and fiance Lisa of Salina, and Jennifer Freeman and husband Jon, also of Salina;. his mother, JoAnn Leiker, of Salina; two Sisters, Joyce Kelley and Judy Claeys, both of Salina; and grandchildren, Jace and Jayden Freeman of Salina. The funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1000 Burr Oak Lane, Salina, with Father Frank Coady officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina. A vigil service will be 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Ryan Mortuary, 137 North Eighth St. Salina. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Mortuary. Memorials are suggested to the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church Building Fund. |
