He was born Jan. 5, 1949 in Woodland Hills, CA. He served as the Chair of Theatre, Speech, Communications Dept. at Kansas Wesleyan University from 1987-2001, retiring in 2002.

He received his B.A., English from Luther College, Decorah, IA in 1972, his M.A., Theatre Arts from UCLA in 1976 and his Ph. D., Theatre from USC in 1983.

He married Barbara Elmer on Aug. 28, 1976 at the Fayette Methodist Church, Fayette, WI.

He is survived by his wife Barbara of the home; two daughters, Lauren and Lindsay Marshall, both of Salina; and a brother, John Marshall of Yucca Valley, CA.

The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 901 E. Neal. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.

Memorials may be made to Kansas Wesleyan University.
