He was preceded in death by his wife, Alberta, in 2006; son, Darrell, in 1970; daughter, Beatrice Montoy, in 1941; and brother, Oswald.

He is survived by two sons, Ismael Jr. and Vincent, both of Salina; five daughters, Claudia Moreno, Salina, Bernadette Lee, Yuba City, Calif., Phyllis Krause, New Boston, Mich., San Juana Johnson, Bonner Springs, and Eloise Martinez, Topeka; three brothers, Henry, California, Paul, Salina, and Joe, Ellsworth; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

There will be no visitation.

A rosary will be said at 6:30 this evening at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, with Father Carlos Ruiz officiating. Private inurnment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
