Mr. Neber was born Frank Valentine Neber on March 27, 1926, at Jacksonville, Florida. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy. He had worked for Frisbie Charolais Cattle Ranch in Gypsum, KS, until his retirement in 1998.

He is survived by his wife, Lila, of the home; two sons, Lee Allen Neber and wife Jill Utech of Salina, KS, and Frank Lloyd Neber and wife Terri of Sugarberry, FL; a daughter, Karlene Lawson and husband Steve of Gypsum, KS; grandchildren, Ashley Ballou and husband William Ballou, Michael Russell, Christine Russell, Aaron Jay Neber, Matthew Kyle Neber, Nicholas Neber and Chase Neber; and a great-grandchild, Payton Ballou.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2008, at First Baptist Church, Gypsum, KS, with Rev. Dave Walters officiating. A private inurnment service will be in Gypsum Valley Cemetery, rural Gypsum, KS.

There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Salina or to the church.
