She was a homemaker, a seamstress and worked in home health care. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Parish, the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, and the Y.M.C.A.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Edmond (Pete) Plante, in 1967, and Fred E. Nurse, in 1981; her parents; four brothers; and four sisters.

Survivors include three sons, George Plante and Chris Plante, both of Salina, and Fred Nurse, of Wichita; four daughters, Jody Patten, of Hays, Belinda Shannon, of Denver, Kay Plante, of Salina, and Marcy Schlitter, of Denver; one stepson, Dell Nurse; one stepdaughter, Linda Pruden; 19 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, with a vigil service at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Salina. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina. Memorial contributions are to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
