Mr. Pierce was born Harold Edward Pierce on July 30, 1929 at Morrellton, MO. He was the retired Kansas District Manager for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, working from the Salina office.

He is a veteran serving in the United States Army Air Corp from 1947 to 1955.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin L. and Maude (Machen) Pierce and one brother Barthlupp Pierce.

He is survived by his wife Edith of the home. Three sons, David Michael and wife Janet of Topeka, KS; Donald Edward of Salina; and Jeffrey Scott and wife Roberta of Overland Park, KS. Two daughters, Joanne Marie Holland of Olathe, KS and Jeanne L. Ramos and husband Angeles of Overland Park, KS. One brother, Leo of Kirkwood, MO. One sister, Evelyn Marks of St. Louis, MO. One sister in law Alva Jean Pierce of St. Clair, MO. Grandchildren: Michael Pierce, Jessica Pierce, Brooke Hedgecock and husband Mike, Trevor Holland, Ashley Holland, Brittany Ramos and Chelsea Ramos. One great-grandchild, Alexys Collichio.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Thursday at the St. Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, 230 East Cloud St. Salina with Father Kerry Ninemire officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina. A Vigil/Rosary Service will be 6:30 PM Wednesday at the Ryan Mortuary, 137 North Eighth St. Salina. Visitation will be Wednesday 10:00 am to 8:00 pm at the Mortuary. Memorials are suggested to the St. Mary Queen of the Universe Church.
