Marjorie Helen “Marge” Sampson, 85, died Sunday, June 1, 2008. She was born March 28, 1923, in La Crosse. She was preceded in death by her husband, William; her parents, Michael and Elizabeth (Reichel) Krug; her brothers, Harry, Milton and Glenn; and her sisters, Hannah Wharton, Esther Popp, Lydia Beahm, Selma Moore, Pauline Holopirek and Janita Reha. Survivors include her children, Dennis and wife Ollie of Titusville, Fla., Michael and wife Melissa of Denton, Texas, and Patricia and husband David Mills of Salina; her grandchildren, Margaret and husband Robert Hague of Salina and Matthew Mehaffey of Denton, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Anna and Brett Hague of Salina. Marge was a homemaker, secretary and business partner with her husband in their accounting office. She enjoyed entertaining at her lake home, playing bridge and doing special things for others. Marge was a member of and volunteer with many organizations, including University United Methodist Church, Salina Duplicate Bridge Club, the American Contract Bridge League, Salina Community Theatre Guild and the Salina Regional Health Center Auxiliary. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at University United Methodist Church, 1509 S. Sante Fe, Salina, KS 67401. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth Street, Salina, KS 67401. Memorials may be made to the church, Presbyterian Manor Employee Education Fund or Salina Community Theatre Building Fund, in care of the mortuary. |
