CONCORDIA — Frances C. Schneider, 91, Concordia, died Friday, April 4, 2008. She was born May 2, 1916, in Saline County, Kansas, the daughter of John and Lucy (Seramur) Schneider. She was a school teacher, social worker and secretary for the Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her fiancee, John G. White, who died in combat during WWII; two sisters, Lucy McCann and Sister Monica Schneider. Ms. Schneider is survived by two sisters, Mary Ryan of New Cambria and Sister Lucy Schneider of Concordia; and a brother, John J. Schneider of Salina. Frances enjoyed traveling the world and being a member of the Legion of Mary and the Sacred Heart Cathedral Guild. Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Salina, with burial following in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina, with a vigil and rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. Memorials contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Cathedral and be sent in care of the mortuary. |
