She was born Sept. 9, 1914, in Marquette. Most of her life was spent in the Salina and Topeka areas. She was an office manager for the Sutorius Bread Co. for several years and retired from banking and insurance business. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the VFW Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Shade.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Private burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or Hospice of Salina, in care of the mortuary.
