John F. Shuman
December 12, 1926 - January 29, 2008

John F. Shuman, age 81, died January 29, 2008 at his residence in Salina.

Mr. Shuman was born December 12, 1926 at Kingman, KS. He was a salesman for Frisbie Construction Company, Gypsum, KS for over 35 years, retiring in 1986. Mr. Shuman was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, and received the purple heart for his service in the Marines during WW II. He enjoyed houseboating at Milford Lake for many years.

He married Jacquelyn Noyes on September 17, 1950 at Hutchinson, KS. She preceded him in death in 1985. He is also preceded in death by one infant Daughter, Karen.

After the death of his first wife, John married Susan (Rasher) Siebert on May 9, 1987.

He is survived by his wife Sue of the home: Two sons, Scott A. of Montoursville, PA and Ronald C. and wife Rhonda of Katy, TX. Three daughters, Debra A. Shuman of Atchison, KS, Donna K. Shuman of Salina, KS and Kathy S. Robison and husband Billy of Beverly, KS. One Step Son, Scott Siebert of Topeka, KS and one Step Daughter, Cynthia Goldsmith and husband Tom of McPherson, KS. And Ten Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm Friday at the Ryan Mortuary, 137 North Eighth St. Salina with Pastor Carol Kuhlman officiating. Burial will follow in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina, with Military honors provided by the Tri Rivers Detachment Marine Corp League. Visitation will be 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday at the Mortuary. The family suggests memorials to either the Tri Rivers Detachment, Marine Corps League, PO Box 2175 Salina, or to Hospice Care of Kansas, 200 South Santa Fe. Salina.
