Margaret L. Smith, 77, Salina, died Saturday, May 17, 2008. She was born October 27, 1930, near Culver, Kansas, to Earl and Cleo Mae (Ford) Hoffman. On June 12, 1949, she married Willard Harold Smith in Culver, Kansas. She was a homemaker and had worked in Salina at Alco and various restaurants. In 1993, she moved from Minneapolis to Salina. She was a member of Belmont Boulevard Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Harold Smith, in 2000. Survivors include her son, Steven Smith and his wife, Theresa, of Hutchinson, Kansas; two daughters, Patricia and Curt Everett of Salina, Kansas, and Shirley Smith of Salina, Kansas; a sister, Evelyn Schmidt of Minneapolis, Kansas; eight grandchildren, Christopher Smith, Joshua Hearne, Brandon Hornseth, Kirstin Everett, Katrina Landwehr, Chad Everett, David Smith and Derec Weis; and five great-grandchildren, Camden Hearne, Ashton Hearne, Avery Hearne, Kasen Stegman and Kaylin Hornseth. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2008, at the Belmont Boulevard Christian Church, Salina, with the Rev. Greg Guy officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis, Kansas. There will be no visitation. The family suggests memorials to the Belmont Boulevard Christian Church or the American Heart Association. Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th, Salina, Kansas 67401, is in charge of arrangements. |
