Alice Marie Smith, 90, of Salina, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008. She was born the daughter of Daniel and Ida Hilleary on March 10, 1918, in Barnard. She was a homemaker and member of Church of the Cross United Methodist, AARP and RSVP. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, in 1981; and a daughter, Betty Lou Smith, in 1941. Survivors include two sons, Charles and wife Sue, of Glenwood, Iowa, and Richard and wife Connie, of Salina; two daughters, Thresa Lee and husband Von, of Tescott, and LaDonna Steffen and husband Bruce, of Longford; two sisters, Evelyn Joksch, of Orland, Calif., and Daisy Hays, of Salina; 11 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and five great great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, near Culver. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Dec 31, at Ryan’s. Memorial gifts may be made to Church of the Cross or Hospice of Salina. Ryan Mortuary, Salina, is in charge. |
