| Aline Starnes |
Aline Starnes, of Salina, died peacefully at the home of her son in Topeka on May 2, 2008. She was born to Arthur Edgar Phillips and Ida Orella Sipes in Port Arthur, TX. She was a WWII Army W.A.C. and had lived in Junction City for 25 years, where she was active with 1st Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James, in 1969; a son, James Jr.; 4 sisters; and 2 brothers. She is survived by four daughters: Susan Myers, Junction City, Sandy and spouse Cliff Winters, Salina, Mary Jane and spouse Jerry, Clark, Butternut, WI, and Sally Talbot, Portland, OR; one son, David Starnes and partner, Kurt Juedes, Topeka; and a brother, Eugene and spouse JoAnn, Phillips, Port Arthur, TX. She also was survived by 10 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to call on the family at a reception at Ryan Mortuary on Monday, May 5, 2008, from 6 until 8 p.m. There will be no services. Memorials are suggested to the Saline County Animal Shelter. |
