Thelma Mae Bergsma Thompson, age 94, of Salina, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008. She was born Jan. 13, 1914, in Lucas. She was a retired cook for Salina Regional Health Center, retiring after 20 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jacob Bergsma, who died in 1953; a second husband, George Thompson, in 1989; and a son, Gilbert N. Bergsma, in 1967.

She is survived by a daughter, Neva L. Naegele and husband Duane, of Salina; and four grandchildren, Dean Naegele, Terry Naegele, Kimberly Bergsma and Valerie Bergsma.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 North Eighth St., Salina, with the Rev. Paul Copeland officiating. A graveside service will be 3 p.m. in Diehl Cemetery, north of Lucas. Memorials are suggested to Sunrise Presbyterian Church, Salina. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m.
