Melvin L. Webb
February 2, 1916 - July 27, 2008

Melvin L. Webb, 92, Salina, died Sunday, July 27, 2008. He was born Feb. 2, 1916 in Lincoln County, KS to the late Milton and Georgianna Gourley Webb. He married Dorthea Slechta Webb on August 11, 1940 in Ellsworth, Ks. Melvin and Dorthea shared 67 years together. He was a farmer in the Westfall area until moving to Salina in 1990. He was a member of Sunrise Presbyterian Church. He was a 62 year member of the Lincoln Masonic Lodge #54, 61 year member of Harmony Chapter #2, Order of the Eastern Star, Scottish Rite Bodies, York Rite, Knights Templar, Red Cross of Constantine and a past Captain of the Provost Guard for Isis Shrine Temple. He was one of the founding directors of the Post Rock Rural Water District and a member of the Salina Moose and Eagles Lodges.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Virgil Roy Webb and two sisters, Bernita Maze and Mabel Webb.

He is survived by his wife, Dorthea, of the home, one son, Bruce and wife, Deb, Osborne, KS; two granddaughters, Jonna and Adrian, a grandson, Ben and one great granddaughter, Rylie.

Friends may call at the Ryan Mortuary on Wednesday from noon until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2008 at Sunrise Presbyterian Church, Salina. Burial services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday in the Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln, Ks. Memorials are suggested to the Shriners Children Hospitals or the donor's choice.
