Norma Ruth Wilson, 74, Salina, died Friday, May 23, 2008. She was born Norma Ruth Denney on Aug. 15, 1933, in Timken. She was a homemaker and beloved mother. She was a Solomon High School graduate, member of Sunrise Presbyterian Church, Girl Scout leader of Troop 255 and the first executive director of the Drug Action Council of Salina. Norma was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Wilson, in 2003; parents, Cecil Denney and Gladys McBride Denney; a brother, Bill Denney; and great-granddaughter, Mystique Bird. Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Burroughs and husband Craig, Hutchinson, and Karen Vidricksen and husband Benjamin II, Kipp; a brother, Larry Denney and wife JoAnn, Tescott; a sister, Betty Wood and husband Charles, Salina; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at Sunrise Presbyterian Church, 825 East Beloit, Salina. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, Salina. Memorial gifts are to the Sunrise Presbyterian Youth. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon at Ryan Mortuary, 137 North Eighth, Salina, and prior to the service at the church. |
