Lulu went to grade school at South West Queen and graduated from Burdick High School in 1932. On June 16, 1943, she married James Woodruff. He died on September 21, 1987. Lulu was confirmed at Burdick Methodist Church and, after moving to Salina, she transferred and was an active member of Indian Rock Wesleyan Church.

She is survived by a sister, Myrtle Peterson of Herington, Kansas; a brother, Joyce Leland Carlson and his wife Ruth Ann of Lincolnville, Kansas; five nieces and nephews; and several family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2008, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina, Kansas 67401. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina.

Memorials are to Burdick United Methodist Church.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.
