Albert H. DeLaCruz
April 8, 1921 - February 3, 2009

Albert H. DeLaCruz, 87, of Salina, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009. He was born April 8, 1921, in Maxwell, Texas. He was an employee of Rock Island Railroad for 35 years, a lifetime member of the American Legion, and a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral. He moved to Salina from Herington.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nadine DeLaCruz, in 1986; and a stepson, Steve Riedel.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia; two daughters, Rosie Cabrera and husband Jorge, of Killeen, Texas, and Mary Howard and husband Paul, of Kansas City, Kan.; a son, Larry DeLaCruz, of Wichita; three stepsons; a stepdaughter; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and 10 stepgrandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Salina, with Father Carlos Ruiz officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina, with military honors by Fort Riley. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Cathedral. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. on Friday with a vigil service at 6:30 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina, KS 67401.
