Preceding her in death were her parents; two sons, Larry “Bud” Geissert and Leo Geissert; four sisters; and four brothers.

Mrs. Hood was a homemaker, a member of the Nazarene Church and a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

In 1947, she was united in marriage to Lester Geissert. They divorced. On Jan. 16, 1970, she was united in marriage to Loren Hood. He survives of the home. Mrs. Hood is also survived by two daughters, Linda Zeiner and husband John, of Lost Springs, and Rose Bayes and husband Kevin, of Herington; three sons, Gene Geissert and wife Deb, of Hope, and Lanny and Bruce Geissert, both of Salina; brother, Paul Biles and wife Mae, of Burley, Idaho; 19 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

No service will be held. The body was cremated. A memorial will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Foundation and left at or sent in the care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St., Salina 67401.
