Linden “Lindy” Jackson Lorenson
September 1, 1929 - January 9, 2009

Linden “Lindy” Jackson Lorenson, 79, of Salina, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2009. He was born Sept. 1, 1929, in Salina. He married Kathryn A. Willhaus on Oct. 6, 1962. Lindy was co-owner and manager of Lorenson Industries Inc., an R.V. service center, for over 50 years.

Lindy served in the U.S. Air Force as an air policeman in the Philippines and Langley Air Force Base in Virginia. He was a life member of the Breakfast AMBUCS, serving on many committees and as district 5-D governor. He was also active in Boy Scouts of America. He served as scoutmaster to Troop 214, served as council president and was on the board of directors until the time of his death. He received many awards through Boy Scouts and AMBUCS. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, serving on numerous committees within the church.

Lindy enjoyed traveling with his wife to Elderhostel programs around the country. His hobby was landscaping his yard and growing flowers. He enjoyed camping with scouts and his family.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy, of the home; son, Kent and wife Jennifer; daughter, Lynette Crawford and husband Mark; grandchildren, Libby Lorenson, Trey Lorenson and Abby Crawford; stepgrandchildren, Kurtis Crawford and Kaity Crawford; brother, Dick Lorenson, all of Salina; and sisters, Esther Lorenson Cooper, of Oakhurst, Calif., and Marty Brunck, of Clayton, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nels and Esther (Short) Lorenson; five brothers, Burman, Glenn, Charles, John and Jim; and two sisters, Elizabeth Lorenson and Alice Horn.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, where friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Salina. Burial will be in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery.
