BENNINGTON — George Orner Jr., 81, Bennington, passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009. Mr. Orner was born Feb. 11, 1928, in Bennington, the son of George and Julia (Smith) Orner Sr., He was a lifelong farmer, farming his land just east of Bennington. He also built homes and worked as a finish carpenter in the Salina and McPherson areas. He is survived by four daughters, Cindy Miller, of Wichita, Catherine Ernotte, of Jensen Beach, Fla., Cheryl Hamilton, of Arlington, Texas, and Christina Krager, of Marathon Shores, Fla.; a sister, Julie Orner Wilson, of Salina; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a niece; and a nephew. A graveside memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, in Bennington Cemetery.
