Donald Roy Palmer, 74, of Salina, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, in Cosmopolis, Wash. Mr. Palmer was born May 14, 1934, in Greeley, Neb. He was the owner of Palmer Trucking for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn, in 2008; brothers, Elmer and Jessie; and sister, Barbara Workinger. He is survived by two sons, Roy and wife Joyce and Jim, all of Salina; a daughter, Melanie Palmer, of Salina; three sisters, Margie Vallier and Edna Wilbur, of Washington, and Dorothy Smith, of Calif.; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. There will be no visitation. Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, Salina. Inurnment of the cremains will be at Wood River Cemetery, Wood River, Neb. Memorials are suggested to the church. Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St., Salina 67401, is in charge of arrangements. |
