Irma Jean Perry, 62, of Salina, died Monday, April 20, 2009. She was born the daughter of Edward and Irma (Tinkler) VanNess on Feb. 26, 1947, in Portis, KS. Irma Jean owned and operated Mean Jean’s Tavern for several years and, prior to that, she operated the Blue Lounge and Silver Bullet taverns. Survivors include four sons, Billy Jr., of Salina, David, of Atchison, Robert, of Salina, and Bryan, of Salina; and a sister, Violet Baker, of Salina.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 24, at Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina. Memorial gifts are to be given to Breakthrough Inc., 227 S. Fifth, Salina.
