Callie B. “Bea” Ricklefs

Callie B. “Bea” Ricklefs, 100, of Salina, died Tuesday, May 26, 2009. She was born Aug. 19, 1908, in Bagwell, Texas, to Alec F. and Martha E. (Jones) Garrett. In 1953, she moved to Salina from Russell. For many years, she was an office clerk for Stiefel’s Department Store in Salina. Her memberships include First Presbyterian Church and Downtown Lioness Club.On Dec. 26, 1928, she married Clay Williamson. He died in 1957. On Oct. 15, 1971, she married Ralph Ricklefs Sr. He died in 1994.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; three sisters, Faye Bolton, Day Hastings and Lillie Garrett; and a stepson, Ralph Ricklefs Jr.

Survivors include her daughter, Ann Coddington and husband Jim, of Salina; stepdaughter, Margaret Jones and husband Jack, of Wichita; stepson, John Ricklefs; two granddaughters, Connie Pounds and husband Von, of Larned, and Penny Thompson and husband Steve, of Salina; four great-granddaughters, Megan McElroy and husband Mike, of Fitchburg, Mass., Nicole Pounds and fiance Brett Haithcock, of Durham, N.C, Jenny Hutchinson and husband Andy, of Manhattan, and Carli Thompson of Chicago; a great-grandson, Adam Thompson and fiancé Ashley Prescott-Barlow, of Chicago; and three great-great-grandchildren, Grace, Drew and Bryce Hutchinson.

The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, 308 S. Eighth, Salina, with the Rev. Tom Reid officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to the church. Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, is in charge of arrangements.
